Review: ‘Virtual Orator’ is a “professional grade” virtual training tool that allows you to practise public speaking. While it is all quite basic it does offer a range of features that should help most people overcome their fear of doing so in real life. Apparently “every session is unique” which doesn’t mean you will get feedback from AI avatars, but they will move and jitter in calm or more aggressive ways which you can choose in the settings. Sure, this program does have some cool features, but the biggest issue I have with ‘Virtual Orator’ is the quite frankly stupid £154.99 price tag. There are PLENTY of ‘Virtual Training’ apps that allow you to practice speaking to people with most of the features this program offers and some of them are free, but almost all of them are less than a tenner. Why on earth would someone pay £154.99 for this? I don’t know, but what I do know is this is not something I will be recommending to someone anytime soon.
