Indians and Pakistanis Visit Their Lost Homes Thanks to VR

VR News: While I am not going to get into the reasons, history or politics of the Partition of India in 1947 we all know that it was a bloody legacy that left over a million dead and millions more displaced and homeless. But now those original native Indians and Pakistanis are once again able to see their old homes, towns and villages thanks to a project aimed at showing them these places via 360° videos and of course VR technology. My Thoughts: While I am all for VR tech being used to give people happy memories this really wasn’t money well spent and they really should have been able to visit those homes in real life, maybe even got to live in them once again. I suppose a bittersweet memory is just as good as any, but for many, it will only make them feel more bitter about what happened. A good idea on paper I suppose, but maybe one that only a few people will enjoy.
