Vive Focus 3 (2021)

Presentation: With its black shiny box, the Vive Focus Plus certainly seems like the premium headset its price suggests. But the moment you have the outer sleeve off and open the box that illusion of premium will soon fade. Everything is kind of shoved into plastic bags and while there is a small amount of cardboard to hold everything in place there is nothing here that would protect it from large knocks and bumps, so you will have to make sure the outer box has no damage before opening it.

Vive Focus 3 (2021)

Review: It has to be said the main headset is pretty stylish and certainly looks premium. With thick face padding and the back of the head padding being used to also store the headset’s battery which lasts for about 2-3 hours most of the time. Even the Built-in microphone is OK, but it is not as good as the Oculus Quest’s, but I did find the motion controllers that came with the headset better than the Oculus Quests!

Sadly once you put the headset on and try to jump into some games and apps things soon fall apart because you can’t buy them from the headset itself, you have to do that on a PC and you can’t even use the mobile app that it accompanies! On paper, the Vive Focus 3 should be the better headset when it comes to stats, but when it comes to software, the Quest is the far superior headset. This sure is a pretty impressive headset, but I can’t see it winning anyone over just yet, not until more software is made to make the platform a more viable option.
