Description: Werewolves Within brings the fun of game night with friends to Virtual Reality. After several attacks on townsfolk, the medieval village of Gallowston has had enough! Werewolves Within will transport you to the medieval village of Gallowston, where you must uncover the werewolves that have been terrorizing the townsfolk. Werewolves Within is a fast-paced game of hidden roles and social deduction for 5-8 players. In one game, You might be a villager trying their hardest to cleanse the town of werewolves, while minutes later you could be the werewolf lying and betraying friends in order to survive the vote. Utilize specific roles and abilities, and the power of persuasion to assess, deduce and win the round. Whether playing a vigilant villager or a devious werewolf, no two games are ever the same.

Review: Now and again you get a game that breaks the mould of a game genre and Werewolves Within is one of them. A party game at heart, but also a social and psychological game all at the same time. The story goes that there have been several attacks on the local villagers and it is time to stop that from happening again. Playing with up to 8 players you sit around a campfire or a talking pit and try and work out who is doing it.

Your goal is to work out who the werewolves are amongst the party. But being a werewolf they look the same as the rest of the villagers. Your role is randomly chosen at the start and then it is up to you to convince the rest of your villagers you are not the werewolf, even if you really are. This is a game about the art of lying and staying cool under pressure.

The game itself is a brilliant idea and one that gets my respect. It looks great and played properly it can be hilarious. But unfortunately not everyone plays ball online and it often leads to rather abusive behaviour and once we even heard threats of violence being thrown around the room! Now let me stress, this is not the games fault at all, but it does happen and happen often. Then there are some people who don’t talk (or can’t talk English) so they remain silent, even if they are not the Werewolf. Sadly this is a great game let down by a few bad apple players, but don’t let that stop you from playing this. Just be aware that it will happen if you play it for long enough. If it does just kick them from the game and move on, don’t feed the trolls people!
