Working in VR Just Got a Whole Lot Easier

VR News: By now most people have seen the new Oculus Quest videos and the news about Facebooks ‘infinite office’. With a real-world keyboard (probably a sperate peripheral) you can use hand gestures and other forms of input to produce a pretty great-looking virtual workspace. You can see and read more about this amazing new future here – https://www.designboom.com/technology/facebook-infinite-office-virtual-reality-working-environment-09-17-2020/

My Thoughts: I have to say the keyboard accessory looks like a great idea, but I am fully aware that there is a small amount of latency with the hand tracking which might make keyboard typing difficult. I personally can’t see anyone fully working in VR anytime soon, but maybe one day it will be possible. I am happy that Oculus (Facebook) is setting down on the hardware side of things, but I have to question if it is currently gamers powering the VR train at the moment or people who have bigger dreams for the technology. I sadly think it is the former rather than the latter.
