Description: Aeon is a VR shooting game for HTC Vive/Window MR/Oculus touch. Forget the storyline, this Aeon is all about the action-packed combat. You start the game with a pair of sharp swords on your back, as well as two heavy calibre pistols, and then it is up to you to kill the enemy! The fighting animation is brought to life with an incredible time warp shooting ability. It’s just like all those badass movies with slow-motion fight scenes. In this virtual reality, you can do the same thing. There is no cooldown time for bullet regeneration, but the more you fire your weapons or move your hands the faster time will go. In general, the slower you move, the slower time flows. This allows the game to have a slow-motion, movie like rhythm! So control your body, be steady, observe your enemy’s actions carefully, and take the shot.

Review: It has to be said Aeon is a glimmering star in a sea of crap inside the Steam VR store. If I had to compare it to something else I would definitely say it is a cross between Superhot and Robo Recall, but yet it carves its own gameplay out and feels more unique than a simple copy of a game. In terms of looks, it does lool graphically very similar to Superhot only with a little more polish and effort. But it is the gameplay in which this game excels. With guns, swords, miniguns and of course a load of “bullet time” slow down effects.

Sadly it is not as finished, not as perfect as games like Superhot and Robo Recall. Annoying things happen like the gun now spawning fast enough and enemies appearing behind you without warning or notification. Also, the game could so with some sound settings as the sound effects are way too loud when compared to everything else. I do feel £11.39 is a good price for this game and I am happy to recommend it to anyone looking for something action-packed to play.
