Review: You start off in a rather pleasant menu with a conveyor belt system of levels. Starting with 1.1 you start the level. The idea is you make levels of blocks by fitting them perfectly together as they fall out of the sky. Sadly things are not that simple for long as the platform you get to build them on gets stranger and stranger as the shape changes. Pretty soon you will find yourself tilting your whole body left and right, leaning into to try and find where to put the next falling piece.

It all starts so easy, but you will soon find yourself struggling to find a place to put it. While there is a lot of controls to get used to, like tilting, tipping and rotating the blocks as well as their position they soon become second nature. I always struggled with Tetris, because it would always rush me and make me panic to the point where I would just dump pieces of the falling puzzle anywhere and everywhere. But with bloxyz I felt more in control, less pressured. The fact that I could lean in and look at the position of the block in 3D helps, and it also helps that the graphics are great meaning each block looks like you could just reach out and touch it. This might be the first block puzzle game I’ve played in VR, but it is also one of the best I have played on any system! Download it and see what Tetris would have looked like if VR had been as good as it is now back in the days it was made.
