Cubed (Google Daydream)
Intro: Cubes, cubes everywhere! See how long you can last in this Daydream-ready game, which combines the strategic challenges of a classical tower defence game, with action packed moments of a first person shooter.
Use turrets and mines to create an impenetrable defence against incoming enemies. Be careful though, resources are limited and your attackers are tough! Use the weapons at your disposal to make up for any gaps you might have in your defence, and to prevent flanking.
Verdict: With its basic, clean style it has to be said Cubed is a joy to look at and play in a relaxing/focused way when compared to the many other tower defence games in VR. While there are only 5 levels they do contain multiple waves on each which I think for less than the single £1 you pay just about offers you your money’s worth. Sure, it doesn’t take long to fly through those levels, but you could always play them again and again, trying to better your previous attempt. I was surprised at how much fun this game was and dare I say its basic look and design helps it to be more addictive and immersive. Well worth a download for anyone who is a fan of tower defence games.
