Description: Dafen Oil Painting Village is a little like a factory, a little like a town, and a little like an open air art gallery. Located in the southern China city of Shenzhen, it is a collective of 20,000 artists and entrepreneurs. They sell millions of paintings piecewise and at scale throughout the world, totaling 56% of all commercial art in Europe and the Untied States, according to official sources. They achieve economies of scale emergently, with little reliance on central coordination.

Review: Dafen Oil Painting Village: An Immersive Reality is an interactive piece of art that features loads of videos of other art all running at once. It’s weird, it’s kind of pointless, but some people might find some enjoyment here. But that will be provided that you can get it to run smoothly because I sure as hell couldn’t. At one point I was running about 1 frame a minute! Its not a terrible VR experience, in fact, it is oddly interesting, but it’s not for most people that is for sure.
