Description: Gunheart is an online co-op RPG shooter where you and your friends become customizable robotic bounty hunters trying to make a buck at the edge of the galaxy. Encounter menacing aliens, explore exotic locations, unlock new gear, and rake in cash to boost your rig.

Review: Multiplayer online VR shooters are two a penny these days in the world of VR gaming, so can Gunheart bring anything new to the table? Playing online only (no single-player options, right from the very start of the game you are placed in an online lobby) you and a team of other people must take on wave after wave of enemy insects. Using a teleport system to get around and great scenery filled with cover positions this is a war and it puts you slap bang in the middle of it.

Using the Oculus Touch controllers I found the controls easy to use, but only after I had taken a while to get used to them. While you do start with basic weapons you can find more and there are also hidden things all over the gaming worlds. Other than a few upgrades and things it is all about shooting, dying and true hardcore co-op gaming.

Gunheart’s biggest problem is that it is all multiplayer, no single-player action at all. In fact, right from the start, it will often simply chuck you into a multiplayer game, no chance to get your bearings or maybe consider setting up your own party for friends to join, it just chucks you in there! But once you get your bearings, once you get the hang of the game you realise how much fun it can be and how good it looks. Then, the multiplayer-only fun really gets hold of you and you’ll spend hours playing, becoming fully immersed. Sadly Gunheart is very quiet so unless you are getting a friend to download it as well you might as well leave it well alone. This is one great shooter that is worth picking up in a sale.
