Review: Have you ever wondered why there are so many Mage and Magic games available in VR? It’s mostly because nerds like myself play in VR and to me becoming a powerful mage capable of incredible spells is a dream come true. MageWorks takes that classic Mage and Magic style of game, ramps up the graphics and goes deeper into the realisation of becoming a mage like I have never seen before. You will be casting spells, reading and learning new spells, mixing ingredients and even making, painting and designing your own spell wands! While there is a lot to learn about playing this game, making sure you sit through those long tutorials is an essential part of understanding how the game works. But once out and into the gaming world you will be greeted by some pretty good graphics and well-animated enemies from skeletons to super-sized dragons!

I have no doubt that in the future this will be an epic adventure filled with magic and exploration. But for now, it feels like an overly complicated game that if simplified could be amazing. I was playing for 40 mins+ before I had even started the adventure there is that much to learn! The good news is everything looks amazing and the sounds effects are good as well, even the annoying bird helping you is well voiced. Even at its current price, I can easily recommend downloading it, just be prepared to study hard before going out into the game world.
