VR News: With close to 4 million VR headsets sold it goes without saying that Sony is more than happy to talk about the possibilities of a PSVR 2. But they have said it would probably coincide with the release of the PS5 which market analysts predict could be as early as 2020! While nothing has been set in stone this is great news for VR gaming as a whole.

My Thoughts on this Story: While it is no surprise to hear Sony has intentions for a PSVR 2 it’s the certainty of their words that has shocked many in the VR industry. Committing to a new PS5 in a few years was big enough but to say they will probably look at launching a PlayStation 2 VR headset at the same time is great news for the VR market and of course us VR gamers. Even I am happy to admit I was impressed with the price and capabilities of the PSVR with a load of great titles to play and some truly amazing exclusives. I couldn’t be happier to hear this news being a VR fan, but even I have to admit to being a little surprised at how committed to making a PSVR 2 Sony really are.
