Review: Making a sequel to the highly acclaimed Ultrawings should have been a pretty straightforward task. Just make more of the same with some new locations and the same great gameplay. Sadly that is not what we get when it comes to ‘Ultrawings 2’. The game feels unbefitting of the Ultrawings and at the same time does deliver pretty much the same thing. But that is this games problem, it simply doesn’t go far enough. There are no multiplayer options, there isn’t enough aircraft nor variety of mission and it just doesn’t deliver half as much as you might have expected it to have.
But at the end of the day, it is still an Ultrawings game and it feels great to play it really does. That sense of flying you get overlooking the colourful (but sporadic) world below feels amazing and there is more than enough content to justify the asking price. But it simply doesn’t go far enough for us hardcore Ultrawings fans. A good game and one worth owning, but it could have (and should have) been so much more.
