Volkan (Gear VR)
Intro: Things are about to heat up with the release of Volkan, an original virtual reality 3D gaming experience that is as intense as it is addictive. A first-person adventure, you need to hop your way around various pieces of infrastructure still standing including old, damaged buildings, pipes, and narrow platforms, as well as natural structures such as mountains and rocks. Meanwhile, the volcanoes that have destroyed the world around you continue to explode, depositing piping hot lava that flows in all directions.
Verdict: Let’s face it, there are far too many endless runner games across all VR platforms, but esspecialy on the Gear VR, so when something as good as Volkan comes along it sticks out like a sore thumb. With a simplistic, but yet oddly beautiful visual style, light beats and sound effects in the background this game grabs you and pulls you into its heart-pounding world that at times is so exciting you will start sweating with nervousness at every jump! If you could only have a hover style instead of a jump, thus being able to press a button to fall and rise it would have been even more exciting. Either way, this is still a fantastic game and well worth its £1.49 ($2) price.
