Review: Keeping things as simple as I can here ‘Hyperbolica’ is a low poly adventure game with a fairly large world to explore and possible hundreds of charters to interact with. But that is not a normal VR world like we are all used to it is a hyperbolic space adventure where everything looks far away but is in fact closer than you think. While this is a VERY cool effect (and kudos to the developer for making this game, it must have been a nightmare to code), it is also nauseating as hell and back. I consider myself to have my VR legs and can endure a lot of motion sickness, but this game made me feel a little queasy and I had to stop.

While low poly and all the chat is in text blocks there is still enough content here to keep you going way past the point of value and would probably take you even longer to find all the hidden trinkets. I really am impressed with the game and for me, it gets an easy recommendation. But I have to say I couldn’t make it work with the Oculus Quest and no matter what headset I used (sticking with the Rift C in the end) I couldn’t get it to work with my motion controllers and I had to use a Gamepad (which I didn’t mind at all).
